CELEBRATING IMPACT, IGNITING FUTURES
Join us for the Africa Matters Summit 2025, a landmark event marking the 10-year anniversary of the Africa Matters Initiative. Taking place in Kigali from April 18-19, 2025, this summit will bring together African youth, changemakers, and global allies to celebrate a decade of empowering young leaders and driving transformative change across the continent.
As the Africa Matters Initiative, we have committed ourselves to this cause. Since our founding in 2015, we have worked to upskill and empower African youth to shape the world they want for themselves, their communities, and the continent. Born as a youth movement led by youth and for youth, we have fostered a sense of pride in African identity and promoted a new vision for Africa—one that highlights the continent’s beauty, strength, and potential.
The summit will spotlight breakout changemakers across key sectors such as tech/AI, health, climate change, banking/finance, arts/fashion, education, and governance/democracy. It will celebrate African and diasporan youth who are defying outdated narratives and redefining what the continent represents. Over the last 10 years, these trailblazers have not only been breaking barriers but also reshaping Africa’s future in transformative ways.
As we reflect on the past decade, we recognise the influx of positive change taking place across the African continent, driven largely by the innovative and determined spirit of its youth. The summit aims to not only highlight these successes but also provide a space for youth to share their visions and strategies for an even brighter future.
Key features of the summit include engaging panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities designed to foster collaboration and inspire action. This gathering will honor our shared commitment to redefining African narratives and creating a legacy of empowerment and sustainable development for generations to come.
